Founder shortlisted for 'Person With Purpose' Northern Power Women Award
We are delighted that Lizzie's work has been recognised through her nomination and shortlisted place on the Northern Power Women Awards 'Person with Purpose' category. The winner will be announced at a black tie event in Manchester on 6th March.

Gemma Aitchinson - YES Matters
Gemma set up the project following the murder of her sister, Sasha Marsden in 2013. The project, based in Chorlton, aims to empower young people to challenge gender stereotypes through informing them about consent legislation and the dangers of pornography and providing workshops on body confidence. Gemma has been campaigning for a new Decency clause for advertising, to ensure advertisements promote gender equality.
Kim Leadbeater - More In Common (Batley and Spen)
Kim is Chair of the Batley and Spen More in Common team of volunteers, an apolitical group aiming to improve community cohesion through creating community-based projects which was set up following the murder of Kim's sister, Labour MP for Batley and Spen, Jo Cox. Kim is also a lecturer and an experienced personal trainer and has helped empower people in her local area to look after their physical and mental health.
Jessie Jacobs - Policy & Campaigns Officer TUC
Jessie founded A Way Out, a charity based in Stockton on Tees in June 2002, with the aim of tackling abuse and addiction amongst young women. She was named the 2009 Sunday Times Social Entrepreneur of the Year. In addition to her role at the TUC, Jessie is a passionate political campaigner, a member of the Labour Party and has written for The Guardian and the New Statesman, among other publications.
Julie Bell - Region Chief Commissioner, Girlguiding NWE. Head of Libraries, Museums Culture and Registrars
Julie has been involved in the Girl Guides since her childhood and takes great pleasure in coming up with strategies to improve the experience of Guides and Rangers across North West England. Julie has also chaired her local Children's Festival in Garstang since 2002.
Sue Murphy - Deputy Leader, Manchester City Council
Sue has represented the Brooklands ward in Wythenshawe for The Labour Party since 1999. She chairs the We Love Manchester emergency fund, set up in the wake of the Manchester Arena terror attack on the 22nd May 2017 to help the families of the 22 victims and survivors and their families.
