COVID19 Update

COVID19 Update

What a moment in time we are living in! In light of the current situation I wanted to personally update you on Think2Speak’s plans, and the difficult decisions our team are having to make.

Lizzie Jordan

Protecting our team and supporting our stakeholders through a difficult period

Think2Speak is committed to providing a safe environment for our team and ensuring continuity, to the best of our abilities, in service to you, our stakeholders and partners. We all see ourselves in extraordinary times as novel coronavirus (COVID-19) diagnoses continue to increase around the world.

Our services plans as of today are:

  • Counselling in schools and organisations

Face to face delivery of counselling is available on your site at this time and this will be reviewed daily. Please liaise with Jo Tasker re your external visitor policy and alert us ASAP if you are closing your site.  We are also able to offer virtual (telephone or Facetime) counselling sessions for people age 16 plus.

  •  Private Counselling Clients - seen at Gainsborough T2S space or The EBP Lincoln

    • Adults age 16+ – We will be in touch with all existing clients to make arrangements as no face to face counselling sessions will happen at this time at our space in Gainsborough or at The EBP in Lincoln. Counselling clients, both new and existing, have the option to have their sessions virtually via Facetime or telephone and these can be booked by emailing hello@think2speak.com. This will be reviewed weekly.

    • Children and young people under age 16 – we are in contact with all of the families that we provide face to face counselling to children and young people to make suitable arrangements.

  • Consultancy, workshops and training

Think2Speak’s face to face delivery from today is on hold, moving to virtual delivery through telephone and video conferencing. All existing bookings will be offered virtual sessions or the option to reschedule their booking. We appreciate that all of our stakeholders are under extraordinary pressures currently and so we will liaise with schools and organisations to secure alternative future dates. This will be reviewed weekly. Our team are all still available to support you and offer consultancy and virtual training, please do email hello@think2speak.com.

  • Support and social groups

All of our groups for children and young people that run from our space in Gainsborough are sadly cancelled for March and April. We are very aware that this will be incredibly disappointing for the children, young people and families who look forward to the sessions that we deliver, but we feel that we have no choice based on the seriousness of the current pandemic.

Think2Speak Head Office

To protect both the Think2Speak team and the organisations we work with, we plan to make the most of our remote working capabilities from Tues 17th March. This means that our office in Gainsborough is now closed temporarily and our staff will work remotely. We have ensured that our team members have whatever they need to work remotely, safely and securely. We are:

  • Cancelling all work travel and we have recommended that our team avoids non-urgent personal travel as well

  • Cancelling any non-essential face to face meetings and replacing by teleconferences or video meetings if possible

  • Cancelling attendance at others’ gatherings even if they are going ahead (e.g. speaking at conferences)

  • Cancelling all planned events, support groups, meet-ups, and conferences for March and April.

How to communicate with us when the office is closed

Email is the best form of communication during this period and we always aim to get back to you quickly. We ask you to email your key contact or hello@think2speak.com if you are unsure who to reach out to.  We have VOIP phones so our telephone numbers will still work - please continue to call 01427 325 535.

Updates

We will continue to meticulously monitor news from the World Health Organisation, among other sources and guidelines, and we are committed to reassessing the situation and adjusting our plans accordingly.

A final word

I wish you all good health and thank you for continuing to place your trust in us. This is truly unprecedented. I kindly ask that you please support small social enterprises like ours during this time – our online merch store is open 24/7 www.think2speak.com/shop and every purchase really does help.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Or if you are also working from home and feeling quite isolated or lonely, reach out to us for a remote chat! We’ll all still be on social media too so do check out the resources, news and updates we’ll be sharing there too:
