Double Win at Charity Awards!
The Think2Speak director team celebrated a double award win at the inaugural East Midlands Charity Awards accompanied by our guest of honour Sue Fortune, Joint CEO from Lincolnshire Community Foundation, whose support over the last 4 years since our launch in 2015 has been invaluable.
Over 230 people from across the East Midlands gathered for the awards which took place at the prestigious Crowne Plaza, Nottingham where attendees enjoyed a 3-course dinner and awards presentation.
The Lord Mayor of Nottingham Councillor Rosemary Healy also attended the awards, making the closing remarks which was centred around community and collaboration in the sector.
Members of Junior Chamber International Nottingham chamber engaged the audience with a presentation of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This session highlighted and raised SDG awareness throughout the sector, with many charities already contributing towards this.
The energy was electric in the room with charities from Northampton, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Lincolnshire being represented.
Think2Speak bagged two awards - Rising Star in the Small Charity, Big Impact category. This was awarded to a charity with an income of less than £400,000 a year that has made a significant impact, meeting or exceeding its targets and community reach.
Our CEO and Founder, Lizzie Jordan, was also then awarded Highly Commended in the Charity Director of the Year category. This was awarded to a charity director who has made an outstanding contribution to their organisation, or the wider sector over the past year.
